17th Century Longhouse in Longburgh, England

Listing Description

"A superb example of a clay dabbing 17th century Cumbria longhouse, Grade II Listed as being of architectural/historical interest and retaining many fine original and period features throughout. It provides two receptions rooms, three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and en-suite shower room. There are gas central heating, gardens, outbuildings and detached garage. The cottage stands in this delightful hamlet just a mile beyond the sought after village of Burgh By Sands around 7 miles west of Carlisle city centre. The village supports primary school, historic church and inn and is handily located for the Solway Coast, the Lake District National Park as well as Carlisle's western bypass. Overall this is a very rare opportunity to purchase a characterful home, ideal for families, professional couples or even retirement in such a peaceful and yet accessible location. Viewing is highly recommended."

There is so much to love here. My only major change would be to thatch the roof. The asphalt shingle look is just incongruous with the period of this house.
